Community Health Plan of Washington hires chief medical officer

Demetria Malloy, MD, has been appointed chief medical officer and chief health officer of Community Health Plan of Washington, a nonprofit managed care organization.

Dr. Malloy most recently served as regional vice president medical director and strategic physician executive for Elevance Health/Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield National Accounts, according to a July 19 news release from CHPW. She also served as medical director for LA Care Health Plan.

In this role, Dr. Malloy will oversee CHPW’s collaboration with its provider network in addition to regional, state and national stakeholders. She will serve in these integrated roles as part of the organization’s focus on integrated health and the social determinants of health, the release said.
