9 CMOs named in 10 days

Here are nine chief medical officers that have been named in the last 10 days, as reported by Becker’s:

  1. Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis named Joe Galante, MD, as their new hospital CMO
  2. Debbie Aizenberg, MD, was named CMO of the UC Davis’ ambulatory services network. 
  3. Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury appointed Ryan Sexton, MD, as their new CMO. Dr. Sexton will be taking over for Michael Rousse, MD, who is retiring after 20 years in the role.
  4. Columbus Ohio-based Nationwide Children’s Hospital tapped Catherine Krawczeski, MD, as its CMO. She also serves as the hospital’s physician-in-chief.
  5. The Department of Veterans Affairs appointed  Susan Bray-Hall, MD, as CMO of their Rocky Mountain Network. Dr. Bray-Hall will oversee inpatient and outpatient medical services in Colorado, Montana, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming. 
  6. Ranjit Hundal was promoted to CMO of Providence’s South Division, which covers 17 hospitals across California. 
  7. Riverside Smithfield (Va.) Hospital appointed Justin Billings, MD, as its first-ever CMO. 
  8. Oswego Health in New York named Wajeeh Sana, MD, as their new CMO. He was previously president of the medical staff at Oswego. 
  9. University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center based in Glen Burnie, Md., tapped Jason Heavner, MD, as its new CMO and senior vice president.
