Susan Kaufman, DO, has been named the vice president and chief medical officer for Lima (Ohio) Memorial Health System. She will replace Dennis Morris, MD, in these roles when he retires in April.

LaPrincess Brewer, MD, has been honored with the Robert A. Winn Career Development award for her work in diversifying clinical trials. Dr. Brewer currently serves as a cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

The American Heart Association released a scientific statement Dec. 8 recommending physicians ask patients with heart failure if they are using alternative treatments such as supplements and diets.
