Dr. Lee joins Emory from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he serves as executive vice president, according to a May 1 news release from Emory. He also serves as president of UPMC Physician Services, overseeing 5,000 physicians and clinically active faculty.
Dr. Lee has been with UPMC since 1996, beginning as an interventional cardiologist. He went on to serve as chief of cardiology for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and chief medical officer of the UPMC Health Plan.
As CEO of Emory Health, Dr. Lee will oversee the academic health system’s 11 hospitals, 250 provider locations and more than 24,000 healthcare providers and staff members.
