Zadie Kenkare, MD, an internist in Madison, Conn., has converted her practice to concierge medicine, moving from a larger patient panel to an annual membership model, Hartford Business reported Nov. 5.

Dr. Kenkare launched the full-practice membership program with New York-based Concierge Choice Physicians, which helps physicians set up and run concierge practices. The company announced the program Nov. 4 but did not disclose the annual fee.

Members get longer appointments, a dedicated concierge coordinator, direct after-hours contact with Dr. Kenkare, specialist coordination, patient advocacy and an annual wellness exam with customized screenings. When a parent enrolls, adult children ages 18 to 26 can also use the benefits.

Dr. Kenkare is board-certified in internal medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. She earned her medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed her internship and residency at New Haven, Conn.-based Yale New Haven Hospital.

Concierge Choice Physicians reports working with thousands of physicians across 35 states. It offers full-practice programs and hybrid models, in which physicians keep a traditional panel alongside membership patients.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
