Here are 10 chief medical officer moves that occurred in September as reported by Becker’s:

1. Brendan Malik, MD, was named vice president of physician enterprise development and chief medical officer of Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare. 

2. Sumbella Baqai, MD, was appointed chief medical executive of Sutter Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, Calif.

3. William Holubek, MD, was named chief medical officer of Paramus, N.J.-based Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.

4. David Gasperack, DO, was promoted to system senior vice president and chief medical officer of WellSpan Medical Group, part of York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health.

5. Bruce McNulty, MD, was named chief medical officer of Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Ascension Alexian Brothers.

6. Calvin Hwang, MD, was named chief medical officer of North Bergen, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center.

7. John Lucio, DO, was appointed president and chief medical officer of SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo.  

8. Seth Brody, MD, left WakeMed to join Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health as chief medical growth officer.

9. Karen Chilton, MD, was named senior vice president and chief medical and quality officer of WakeMed.

10. Katie Peterson, MD, was appointed chief medical officer of Wenatchee, Wash.-based Confluence Health.
