Monarch has added Charleston, S.C.-based Recalibrate Health to its nationwide network of independent, concierge OB-GYN practices, the company announced Aug. 25.
Monarch operates a zero-equity platform that gives physicians 100% ownership of their practices along with upfront capital, office buildout, staffing and marketing support. The model is built to counter a fee-for-service system in which OB/GYNs average nine-minute appointments and face burnout rates as high as 75%. Monarch says its physicians instead spend 45-plus minutes with each patient, a 300% increase in appointment length.
Kate White, MD, has practiced for 28 years and is certified in menopause and obesity medicine and recently. Recalibrate Health, her recently opened practice, targets a local care gap for women in menopause and adds mental health counseling and nutrition services, care Monarch says is increasingly tied to metabolic health as more than 1 in 10 Americans use a GLP-1 drug.
