Henry Ford taps Dr. Brien Smith for top neurology role

Detroit-based Henry Ford Medical Group has added Brien Smith, MD, as its chair of the department of neurology.

Dr. Smith worked with Henry Ford for 18 years, working in the epilepsy and neurophysiology programs. He rejoins from Columbus-based OhioHealth, where he served as system vice president of the neuroscience service line and interim institutional official. 

At Henry Ford, Dr. Smith will oversee all clinical, research and administrative aspects of the neurology department. 

Dr. Smith has also worked for the neuroscience line at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., according to a Feb. 28 press release.
