Dr. Anthony Guarino joins Interventional Pain Consultants

Anthony Guarino, MD, has joined Alton, Ill.-based Interventional Pain Consultants as a staff physician, The Telegraph reported Feb. 22.

Dr. Guarino was previously the director of pain management at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in St. Louis for 21 years. He also served as an associate professor in the anesthesiology department of Washington University School of Medicine, also in St. Louis. After retiring from BJC Healthcare, he worked with Physician Partners of America.

He specializes in several spine procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic injections and treatments, radiofrequency neuroablations, spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps. 

Dr. Guarino is also a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the International Spinal Injection Society, and the North American Spine Society.
