HCA Florida, UCF to launch internal medicine residency program

Gainesville-based HCA Florida Healthcare and The UCF College of Medicine in Orlando will launch an internal medicine residency program at HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee, with the first class of 12 residents starting in July 2026, South Florida Hospital News reported Jan. 6. 

According to the report, the three-year program has received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and will participate in the National Resident Matching Program. Once fully scaled, it will train a total of 36 residents.

The program will offer training across inpatient, outpatient and subspecialty areas, including cardiology, critical care, endocrinology and infectious disease.
