Dr. Espinola most recently spent 12 years at Premera Blue Cross, where he served as executive vice president and chief strategy and product officer. He was also CEO of Kinsell Network, a wholly owned subsidiary of Premera, according to a Jan. 25 release.
Prior to Premera, Dr. Espinola was the national medical director for Essence Healthcare. He also has experience as executive and medical director of Evercare, a division of UnitedHealth Group.
Dr. Espinola succeeds Ken Provencher, who has held the position of president and CEO of PacificSource for 21 years. Mr. Provencher announced his retirement in late 2022 and will continue to serve in the position through March 31.
