Income uncertainty is what self-employed physicians like least about their job, according to Medscape’s Self-Employed Physicians Report published Nov. 11.
Medscape surveyed 1,571 physicians between March 19 and June 3, of those physicians, 748 were self-employed.
Here’s what self-employed physicians like least about their job:
- Income uncertainty: 38%
- Running a business: 26%
- Managing staff (hiring, firing, scheduling): 23%
- Dealing with more government regulations: 20%
- Work-life balance issues: 20%
- Obtaining malpractice coverage: 15%
- Smaller staff and resources: 10%
- Marketing and advertising: 7%
- Other: 5%
- Nothing: 5%
