Joint Commission taps new deputy CMO

The Joint Commission has appointed Arjun Srinivasan, MD, as deputy chief medical officer. 

According to a Nov. 10 news release shared with Becker’s, Dr. Srinivasan joins the Joint Commission from the CDC and has over 25 years of experience in infectious diseases, public health and quality measurement and improvement. 

Dr. Srinivasan will work on initiatives in the CMO’s office, reporting directly to Elizabeth Mort, MD, vice president and CMO. He will focus on programs aimed at improving healthcare delivery, safety and outcomes across all care settings. This will specifically include designing services to support physicians in delivering high-quality care and serving as a liaison between healthcare quality and safety communities.
