Dr. Wilson joins EndoQuest from the John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston, where he serves as an associate professor and a minimally invasive and robotic surgeon, according to a Jan. 25 release announcing his appointment.
Dr. Wilson has also served as medical director of the Surgical Innovation and Robotics Institute at Memorial Hermann in Houston, where he helped train surgeons in robotic surgery. Prior to receiving his medical degree, he served three tours in the U.S. Navy as a surface warfare officer.
In his new role, Dr. Wilson will oversee EndoQuest’s development of its proprietary endoluminal surgical system. The flexible system would allow surgeons and therapeutic endoscopists to perform upper and lower gastrointestinal surgeries less invasively.
