Here are 15 appointments, exits or other moves by physicians in executive roles since Oct. 1, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Cliff Deveny, MD, president and CEO of Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health, shared plans to step down and transition into a new role amid the system’s recent ownership change.
2. Steven Corwin, MD, will step down Jan. 22 as president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian after 14 years. He will be succeeded by Brian Donley, MD, the system’s executive vice president and COO.
3. Thomas Smyth, MD, was appointed the inaugural executive vice president for community health at Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical System.
4. Maria Carney, MD, an internist, geriatrician and palliative care physician, was appointed president at Glen Cove (N.Y.) Hospital.
5. Jason Smith, MD, PhD, was appointed CEO of Louisville, Ky.-based UofL Health.
6. Elizabeth Haines, DO, was appointed COO of Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and senior vice president of pediatric services for New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System.
7. Vishal Agrawal, MD, was appointed CEO of Longitude Health, an innovation consortium formed by some of the largest nonprofit health systems in the U.S.
8. Michael Gitman, MD, was named president of Northwell’s North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y.
9. John Murphy, MD, president and CEO of Danbury, Conn.-based Nuvance Health, shared plans to retire.
10. Charles Bareis, MD, was appointed president of MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Ill., part of Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine.
11. Christopher Longhurst, MD, was selected as the next CEO of Seattle Children’s.
12. Adam Landman, MD, was appointed chief digital information officer of Providence, R.I.-based Brown University Health.
13. Susan Szulewski, MD, was appointed president and COO of McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass.
14. Elizabeth McLarney, MD, and Tony Blofson, MD, were named acting co-CEOs of Brattleboro (Vt.) Memorial Hospital while Christopher Dougherty is on a leave of absence.
15. Patrick McGill, MD, was appointed president and CEO of Indianapolis-based Community Health Network.
