HCA adds new Western division president

HCA Healthcare has appointed Jackie DeSouza-Van Blaricum as its new president for the far West division, overseeing eight hospitals and several healthcare facilities in Las Vegas and California, according to a Jan. 3 report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The division is headquartered in the Las Vegas Valley, and encompasses the Sunrise Health System in Las Vegas. 

Ms. Van Blaricum has been with HCA for over 20 years, with half of the time spent as a hospital CEO. She most recently led Riverside (Calif.) Community Hospital

Ms. Van Blaricum is also the first Latina to lead the division, according to the report. 

“My big aspiration is bringing world-class care close to home,” Ms. Van Blaricum told the Review-Journal. “I think everybody deserves that opportunity to have world-class care in their backyard. And I also want to work with our leaders to create the best places for people to work.”
