American Society of Nuclear Cardiology names next president

Dr. Mouaz Al-Mallah has been installed as president of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology for the 2023 term.

Dr. Al-Mallah currently serves as the director of the cardiovascular PET program at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center, according to a Jan. 3 news release from the organization. He is also a professor and the chair of cardiology at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute.

Dr. Al-Mallah has been recognized for his research and teaching in a variety of subjects, including cardiac PET, cardiac CT and the prognostic value of nuclear cardiology. He has published more than 450 articles and chapters and is also a professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.
