In the role, Dr. Ellis will lead player health and safety, identify new medical partnerships and collaborate with athletic staff and medical advisors across the league.
Dr. Ellis joins USFL from the NFL, where he will continue to work as a consultant. He has also helped support sports programs, including at the Olympics, Atlanta Motor Speedway and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
He also served as an emergency physician for the Atlanta Falcons for 13 seasons.
