Connecticut hospital names ophthalmology chief

Vicente Diaz, MD, has been named the next chief of ophthalmology at Yale New Haven Health’s  Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Diaz serves as the director of ophthalmology at Bridgeport Hospital’s Connecticut Burn Center, a position he has held since 2019, according to a Nov. 29 news release from the health system. He was named Yale Health Plan’s ophthalmology chief in 2021, where he treats Yale University staff, students and families at the university in New Haven, Conn. 

Dr. Diaz will take on his new role Jan. 1.
