The new East Valley site encompasses a hospital and two speciality care clinics. Dr. van Leeuwen will provide oversight, guidance and collaboration to the site’s clinical teams.

She will also continue to treat patients at the 367,341-square-foot location.

The site will also provide care through the Phoenix Children’s Center for Fetal and Neonatal Care, which Dr. van Leeuwen launched in 2013 and now co-directs.

“I am looking forward to this new role as we significantly expand our presence in the East Valley,” Dr. van Leeuwen said in a Nov. 22 press release. “It’s an opportunity to collaborate with clinicians across every specialty, to maintain excellence in patient care and quality throughout the hospital, and to identify areas of need for the families we serve.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
