Here are five things to know:
1. The acquisition includes UCI Medical Affiliates’ portfolio of 52 Doctors Care and 20 Progressive Therapy Clinics, staffed by nearly 200 physicians and advanced practice providers.
2. Doctors Care is the largest and most established urgent care provider in South Carolina.
3. The deal extends Novant’s network to dozens of new communities in the states, Dean Swindle, Novant’s chief strategy officer and president of Novant Health Enterprises, said in a news release.
4. In February, Novant entered the South Carolina market with the $2.4 billion acquisition of three hospitals and their affiliated clinics from Tenet Healthcare.
5. Novant is developing strategies for outpatient care in the state, including ASCs and ambulatory infusion with urgent care.
