Question: What are your top priorities through the end of the year?
Christy Ricks: To continue building and centralizing our provider talent team in order to best position us for future success. As a multistate healthcare organization, my team is distributed across the country, so I rely on structured and intentional touchpoints in order to address my team’s needs as well as those of the communities we serve.
Q: What’s your secret to success?
CR: Listening — seek first to understand the issue or concern, then collaborate with our stakeholders in order to best facilitate our desired outcome. Transparent and honest conversations about the difficulties facing not only our organization, but the country, as it relates to healthcare staffing shortages. Being an advocate for my team, our candidates and the communities we serve in order to save lives.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
