Physician pay where income is growing the most

Miami is the city with the highest income growth, according to a Feb. 27 report on the “Happiest Cities in America” from WalletHub.

The personal finance website’s report ranked 180 of the largest cities across the country on three key metrics: emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment. 

Here is the average annual compensation for family physicians in the five cities with the highest income growth, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

  1. Miami: $224,350
  2. Hialeah, Fla.: $224,350
  3. Providence, R.I.: $203,440
  4. Nampa, Idaho: $201,580
  5. Oakland, Calif.: $278,260
