Kansas and South Dakota are the least expensive states for a standard visit to a physician, with the cost of basic office visits ranging from $82-$125, according to data from insurance company Sidecar Health’s care calculator

In Alaska, the most expensive state, visits cost between $112 and $172.

Sidecar used data from a study published in Health Management Policy and Innovation that analyzed more than 1 billion self-pay claim prices of common procedures compared to insurer-negotiated rates from claims between July 2017 to July 2019. The prices per visit do not include the anesthesia, imaging, and other fees.

Here are the 11 least expensive states to see a physician, listed with the average cost range associated with a visit in each state:
