Data breach affecting 196,000 patients hits Physician’s Business Offices

Management service organization Physician’s Business Office filed an official notice of a data breach Sept. 23 that could have affected more than 196,000 patients, according to a report from JDSupra

According to the report, Physician’s Business Offices detected unusual activity within its network April 2022. The organization secured its system and then hired an independent digital forensics and incident response firm to investigate. 

The investigation, completed June 30, found the breach affected patients’ names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, protected health information and health insurance account information.
