Mr. Hamlin hosted a dinner with the 10 medical professionals who saved his life and surprised them with a scholarship for Cincinnati youth in their honor.
Mr. Hamlin will award 10 scholarships, each worth $1,000, to individuals in underserved areas of Cincinnati for the next three years.
The scholarships will be named after the 10 first responders, nurses and physicians who treated Mr. Hamlin after his cardiac arrest.
“I surprised them with a scholarship named after each of them that will support youth in Cincy to chase their dreams. Wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them,” Mr. Hamlin tweeted on Nov. 5.
