4 hospitals hit with price transparency fines: 3 things to know

CMS has fined four additional hospitals for alleged price transparency violations.

Here are three things ASCs should know:

1. The hospitals and the amounts they were fined:

  • Jacksonville, Fla.-based UF Health North — $979,000.  
  • Lares, Puerto Rico-based Hospital General Castaner — $101,400.
  • Dunn, N.C.-based Betsy Johnson Hospital — $99,540.
  • Samaritan Hospital-Albany (N.Y.) Memorial Campus — $56,940.

2. The hospitals were fined between Aug. 22 and 23.

3. Eleven hospitals have been fined for price transparency violations since September 2021.
