  1. Pediatricians averaged $251,000 in compensation annually.
  2. Pediatrician compensation increased by 3 percent between 2022 and 2023.
  3. Forty-five percent of pediatricians reported feeling fairly compensated.
  4. The average incentive bonus for pediatricians was $31,000.
  5. Male pediatricians earn more annually than their female counterparts, earning $271,000 compared to $240,000 annually.
  6. Thirty-six percent of pediatricians reported competition from nonphysician practitioners as having the most negative effect on their compensation.
  7. Fifteen percent of pediatricians take home other medical-related work to supplement their income.
  8. Sixty-nine percent of pediatricians said they will continue taking new and current Medicare or Medicaid patients.
  9. Fourteen percent of pediatricians said they would drop insurers that pay the least.
