Hospital Sisters Health System appoints chief physician executive

Kevin Lewis, MD, has been appointed senior vice president and chief physician executive of Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System, which has 17 locations across Illinois and Wisconsin.

Dr. Lewis has previously served as regional director and CEO of St. Louis-based SSM Health Medical Group and regional chief clinical officer of Oklahoma City-based SSM Health-Oklahoma, according to a July 24 news release from the health system.

Dr. Lewis spent 15 years practicing as a pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine physician before serving as a healthcare executive, the release said. He will begin his new position Aug. 28.
