Dr. Whelan will become the first person in the hospital’s history to hold the dual role when his appointment becomes effective Aug. 7, according to a June 29 news release from the hospital’s parent system, Premier Health.
He most recently served as a strategic adviser for University of Arizona Health Sciences in Tucson and has held leadership roles at Banner Health, Loyola University Health and University of Chicago Medicine.
