New York physician receives national award for excellence in patient care

Curtis Mills, MD, is the recipient of the Ralph O. Claypoole Sr. Memorial Award for devotion of a career in internal medicine to the care of patients from the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Mills has been with Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network for 25 years, according to a May 17 news release from the health system. He retired from Bassett’s senior professional staff as attending physician in June 2021.

Qualifications to receive this award include the physician serving as a role model in the approach to clinical care, demonstrating excellence in and devotion to the clinical care of patients and serving the needs of underserved communities and underrepresented or marginalized populations.
